i will always have a deep respect for Austin Carlile due to what he said to the crowd at warped tour this summer. As he tried to get a circle pit going before playing “second & sebring,” he asked the crowd to stay quiet. 

“i want everyone to get down on one knee right this second to show some respect for your neighbors. i want everyone to have fun, and i don’t want a single person hurt tonight. we’re all here to have a good time. so get the fuck down on one knee.”

and i watched in amazement as the ENTIRE fucking crowd of hundreds of people knelt down on the muddy, dirty ground of the orlando fair grounds in the excruciating heat of mid-july in florida. and i watched in amazement as we all showed our respect for each other, our respect for the band, and our respect for the music. and in that moment, i was proud to say that these are the people of my generation. these are the people that have my heart.

So, thank you, Austin. Thank you for connecting us. And thank you for your time, your music, and your passion.
